Hi! My name is Cristina

Nieto. I create social media content for Warby Parker. I live in NYC (Chinatown) but I’m originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

With all of this talk of Instagram, we love your personal Instagram and approach to curation! Can you share any anecdotes behind any of the images you’ve posted recently?

Thank you for your kind words! I was recently traveling through Europe and our last stop was Amsterdam. What an amazing city! You’ll notice that was my favorite because I definitely posted way more Amsterdam photos compared to the other cities we visited. We stayed at the most beautiful Airbnb in the Jordaan area and rode our bikes everywhere. So perfect!

“I’m very fortunate to work with a group of incredibly talented individuals and I’m incredibly proud of the work we do.”

What is one question you wish people asked you more often in general and with regard to your work at Warby Parker?

In general “Want some coffee?” (I love coffee!) and in regards to my work at Warby Parker, I wish people were more curious to know how much work there is behind each piece of content we put out there. We create all content in-house and I’m very proud of that. I’m very fortunate to work with a group of incredibly talented individuals and I’m incredibly proud of the work we do.

How do you think creativity plays a role in some of the world’s bigger conversations and how is Warby Parker or social media, in general, playing a role in this shift in thinking?

I believe there’s a huge shift happening in the way we communicate our story visually. Video has become a quintessential part of our everyday communication and one of the most engaging pieces of our daily content puzzle. Snapchat, Instagram Stories, Facebook Live, etc. are about showing real-time, unedited video content and we’re definitely making this a priority in our content strategy.
